This gem measures 4 1/4" with the frame measuring 7 1/4". The Geiss who is dressed in bright blue and red is carrying a turkey to his King. What a great subject matter! Flint Faience Bookends
Rare pair of Flint Faience bookends depicting a man reading by candlelight. Each measures approximately 8 3/4" x 5 1/4" and the overall condition is very good. I like these bookends because of the multiple colors used and the distinct mold design of each feature. These are the bookends used in the book "Flint Faience Tiles A to Z" by Carney and Galvas, page 65. I will give a letter in writing saying these are the bookends used for the photograph in the book.

Flint Faience Bookends
Rare pair of Flint Faience bookends entitled "Solitude". Each measures approximately 6 1/2" x 4 1/4" and the overall condition is good, however, there are a couple of small flakes in the top of one. The finish is a gun metal gray/black. These are the bookends used in the book "Flint Faience Tiles A to Z" by Carney and Galvas, page 64 (check out the teeny tiny chips seen in the book photo). I purchased all 5 cards in a vintage frame so the overall condition is very good and the color is very nice. I know nothing about these cards except that I thought they were very cool because each card depicts a person in the form of a vegetable (very clever) This particular one illustrates a black man high stepping through the cotton crops with some a cotton plant on his head and a hoe in his hands. The colors are exceptional; however, there are two small tears into the image. It is very hard to find Flint advertising trade cards or postcards and then to find one with an ethnic feature, is almost impossible
