Signed Galle vase

 

This vase measures just over 3" in height and the condition is "as found" which means there is a vertical hairline on one side and small chips in the making around the neck.  I bought the vase because it is literally one of the prettiest pieces of cameo glass I have ever seen regardless of size or price.  It has every shade of red in it from bright torch red to victory red and then a deep pigeon blood red as well as a hint of orange.   It is one of those pieces that would stand out in any collection (and what the heck, you put the hairline to the back of the cabinet right?)  It is signed Galle in cameo.

MONUMENTAL SIZE VASE BY LE GRAS. 

 

This vase measures a whopping 15" in height by 7" across and is properly signed LeGras.  The scene is painted to depict a cabin in the mountains with trees and flowers.  The colors of the vase are warm peach and apricot with the design having warm earthen hues that compliment the background perfectly.  The condition is very good to excellent with no chips, cracks etc., if you collect LeGras, you know to find a scenic vase of this proportion is almost impossible and if you follow eBay, you know that LeGras scenic vases have been fetching from $750 to $2000 on a regular basis.  This one may be purchased considerably below the market value!
